Facebook Introduces new feature: Slideshows
These days Facebook has been focusing on videos. Few weeks back they introduced the roll out video autoplay and also tested a video display picture instead of a static image. Since videos take up a lot of bandwidth which creates a problem to their revenue and growth, the company has introduced a new ad format in the form of Slideshows.
This new format is a lightweight video advertisement made from a series of static images, which is easy for advertisers to use and is engaging for people, the company said in it’s blog post. This ad format will auto-play 3 to 7 photos. So, it will look like a normal video and also load quickly on devices with slower connection. The length of the slide show can be from 5 to 15 seconds.
“As people continue to connect to Facebook using different connection speeds and device types, plus as video consumption moves to mobile — video can also be challenge to advertisers”, Facebook explains their blog post.
The smaller file size means, it will be easier for people with basic devices or with poor network connection. An addition like Slideshow will ensure that advertisers can reach their target audiences without any hassle. That’s not all, a video ad is more lucrative to Facebook than static advertisement.
